We specialize in creating organic blends (bamboo, hemp and organic cotton) into textiles and apparel. Bamboo itself is one of the fastest growing, most readily renewable natural resources on the planet. It's 100% naturally grown without pesticides or fertilizers so Bamboo clothing and linens can be better for your skin than most cottons. Our products are man made from the finest bamboo fibers, spun from regenerated, cellulose rayon, grown in China (for now) and transported to Canada and the U.S.
Bamboo fiber has been praised as the natural, green, sustainable textile material of the 21st century." It is highly antibacterial (25 times more effective at killing bacteria than other chemically treated fabrics). Bamboo sheets will stay fresh and clean-smelling between washes - even after dozens of washes. It is in full compliance with Oeko-Tex, ISO9000 and ISO14000 quality standards. A triple-filtered dyeing process and environmentally responsible disposal methods make bamboo green-friendly"
Hemp is created into sustainable clothing, footwear, shelter, foods, tree-free paper, cement, gasoline, fuel, nutritious and delicious foods, paint, industrial sealants, industrial composites, and so much more. Hemp oil has the highest percentage of usable essential fatty acids of any plant. Hemp is Earth's premier, versatile and renewable natural resource. The hemp plant can single-highhandedly reverse the Greenhouse Effect, purify our air, water, & soil, and clothe, shelter us in a sustainable fashion.
Hemp will grow in any state in the US and most of Canada. In most places, hemp can be harvested twice a year and, in warmer areas such as southern California, Texas, Florida and the like, it could be a year-round crop. Hemp has a short growing season and can be planted after food crops have been harvested. Farming only 6% of continental US acreage with biomass crops would provide all of America's gas and oil energy needs, ending dependence upon fossil fuels.
Additionally, hemp grown for biomass could fuel a trillion-dollar-per-year energy industry, while improving air quality and distributing the wealth to rural areas and their surrounding communities, and away from centralized power monopolies. More than any other plant on Earth, hemp holds the promise of a sustainable ecology and economy.
Much of the above is excerpted from the book The Emperor Wears No Clothes by Jack Herer, a book for anyone who cares about the future and well-being of our planet. This visionary book makes clear why it is necessary to add hemp to our individual and collective lives today and why hemp is essential to our well-being as well as the earth.
